World Mitochondrial Disease Week 2024

From September 16th to the 22nd, 2024, the global mitochondrial disease community will unite to raise awareness for those living with mitochondrial disease.

We have a number of activities planned to support the Canadian mitochondrial community and contribute to global awareness efforts. Take a look below!

Throughout September, and during World Mitochondrial Disease Week (September 16 – 22, 2024), Canadians nationwide use their energy to participate in Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito. This event, founded by MitoChampion Louise Gibson in 2015 in Mississauga, Ontario, has now spread across Canada, uniting teams from various regions to walk with a common vision, to ensure all lives are powered by healthy mitochondria!

On September 21st, 2024, landmarks around the world will be lighting up in bright green to celebrate World Mitochondrial Disease Week (WMDW) and raise awareness for those living with mito.

When we share information and experiences, we help contribute to a shared body of knowledge. As an expert who knows what it means to live with mitochondrial disease, you can help support research, development of new therapies, regulations and reimbursements. You also help MitoCanada know how we can best meet your needs.
