Throughout September, and during World Mitochondrial Disease Week (September 16 – 22, 2024), Canadians nationwide used their energy to participate in Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito. This event, founded by MitoChampion Louise Gibson in 2015 in Mississauga, Ontario, has now spread across Canada, uniting teams from various regions to walk with a common vision, to ensure all lives are powered by healthy mitochondria!

Meet our Fundraising Teams

Mississauga Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito

On September 22nd, 2024 at Lake Aquitaine Park was the 9th Annual Mississauga Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito!

Walk N’ Roll founder, Louise Gibson and her sister, Rita, lived with mitochondrial disease their entire lives. It took Rita’s life seven years ago. Each year, Louise summons all of her strength and courage to go the distance to inspire others and raise funds for MitoCanada.

Winnipeg Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito

On September 15, 2024 was the Winnipeg Walk N’ Roll 5km walk at Ron Duhamel Park in Sage Creek.

When Aiden was diagnosed in 2018 at just 15 months old the Procyshyn’s had never heard of mitochondrial disorders. It is their goal to help change that and help all those affected in any way they can! Energize your mitochondria with a 5km walk.
