A dream can inspire hope in others.

Jon Paradowski is a regular guy from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada that has a dream, the “Faces of Mito”.

Jon has a family member with a secondary mitochondrial disease and his dream is to celebrate MitoCanada’s 10th Year Anniversary by running across Canada virtually and to show the many “Faces of Mito”.

Our 5th annual WalknRoll 4 Mito event has gone virtual! 

WHEN: September 12, 2020

WHERE: Lake Aquataine Park, Mississauga, ON

This popular event will kick off Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week (Sept 13-29, 2020). Louise Gibson will will be walking one (1.5km) lap around Lake Aquitaine Park in Mississauga or an equivalent loop in Oshawa, every 2nd day for every $1000 raised for the Tarnopolsky foundation. Louise’s goal is 10 laps! 

Join Louise in getting closer to the cure for mitochondrial disease one step at a time.

TEAMmito Winnipeg will be hosting a VIRTUAL 5km Walk~Run~Roll for MITO the week of September 13 to 19 (World Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week).

This year’s event is being held VIRTUALLY due to current restrictions on gatherings. Participate from the comfort of your own neighbourhood!

The Calgary Marathon Charity Challenge has gone virtual!

You have from May 31st – Sept 27th to complete events (5k, 10k, half-marathon, marathon & 50k).

To sign up, please use the following link so that MitoCanada will receive $5 for every person that uses the link.

Use the Mito signup link to register and follow the prompts to set up your Charity Challenge fundraising page at the same time.  Anyone who raises $1000 or more gets a free race entry for 2021!

OVER $70,000 RAISED!

Our May 31, 2020 Virtual Marathon exceeded all our goals and expectations, and we are overwhelmed with all of the support as we tripled our fundraising goal. 

This is the first sporting event that we live broadcast. The six runners are phenomenal human beings who helped remind us what an incredible running community we have in Calgary.
