Running Across Canada for the Faces of Mito

On May 14, 2021, John Paradowski crossed the finish line after running over 7,000km.

Running across Canada is no easy feat. We couldn’t be more proud of Jon’s accomplishment and moved by his motivation and determination to raise awareness for MitoCanada. Jon is a tremendous inspiration, all of us at MitoCanada are tremendously grateful to have his support. Thank you, Jon.

To learn more about Jon and his intrepid  journey, we invite you to read his story.

My name is Jon Paradowski. I’m a regular guy from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada who has a dream – to run across Canada for the many “Faces of Mito”. I have a family member with a mitochondrial disease and are thankful for the support received from this wonderful charity, MitoCanada.

This near year-long odyssey is very important to me. The reality is that most people will face, or know someone who will face, a disease involving mitochondrial dysfunction at some point in their lifetime. My dream is to celebrate MitoCanada’s 10th Year Anniversary by running 7,269 kms from Tofino, British Columbia to St. John’s, Newfoundland virtually while featuring the many “Faces of Mito” and raising funds to support MitoCanada

Jon’s Faces of Mito run invites everyone across Canada to share their stories. Together, we are creating a national anthology to celebrate the Mito Heroes in every province. By working together and inspiring one another, we can achieve so much and give hope to those living with mito. Please, share your story with us.

Aiming to raise $72,690 — $10 for every km he travels from coast to coast – Jon hopes to protect, improve and save lives. Funds raised will go towards MitoCanada’s essential support, education and research programs
