OVERVIEW

Join us on May 31st for our TEAMmito virtual marathon event, where participants will be facing the challenge of running a marathon, while also competing in a GWR title attempt for “The most money raised whilst running a marathon distance”. This event launches our 2020 ScotiaBank Charity Challenge campaign.

We’ll be going live on Facebook the morning of Sunday, May 31, 2020, as we follow the runners along their route, cheer on our favourites, and raise funds.

Keeping our Runners Safe Through Physical Distancing – for locations with runners on the same route, we will have a staggered shot-gun style start to respect physical distancing guidelines.

Keep checking this page or watch our social media channels for links to the live event.

HELP YOUR FAVOURITE RUNNER CLAIM THE GWR TITLE

Wondering how you can help your favourite runner claim the GWR title of Most Funds Raised Whilst Running a Marathon?

  1. Tune in to our live broadcast on YouTube or FaceBook.
  2. Interact with the hosts and runners via the chat function on each platform.
  3. Donate to your favourite competing runner during the race to help them claim the GWR title, and encourage others to do the same. (Only funds donated while the runners are actually running the race will count towards the world record.)

Two months ago, MitoCanada was poised to have its best year ever as we were looking forward to several unique events as part of our 10-year anniversary. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating on our financial outlook due to physical events being cancelled.

Help us close the gap so we can continue our mission towards finding a cure for mitochondrial disease. On May 31, 2020, donate to your favourite runner during our virtual marathon.
